Reebok Fashion story

Reebok is a manufacturer of sportswear, footwear and accessories, founded in 1958 in England. It is based in the Boston suburb of Canton, Massachusetts. It is currently a subsidiary of Adidas. The company has left its mark on pop culture with tennis, gym and basketball shoes as well as celebrity.

In 1895, Joseph William Foster at the age of 14 began working in his bedroom above his father’s bakery in Bolton, England. There he created several pairs of spiked sneakers.

Foster learned the shoe business from his grandfather, who also helped make spikes and then set up production to sell to other athletes.

Joseph handmade athletic shoes for the best runners in his neighborhood. The shoes were made to order according to the measurements taken from each athlete individually. The local runners were all wearing spikes invented by Foster.
