Kultivate Fashion story

Kultivate is a Dutch fashion brand, founded in January 2003, which quickly gained fame through daring texts on their T-shirts. The company was started by Frank van Rooijen and Jeffrey Heerkens. Van Rooijen graduated as a graphic designer at the Art Academy in Utrecht, just like Heerkens. When they had the money and the time, they started their own clothing line, with the help of the company "The Badge Company". Kultivate sees clothing as a perfect medium to convey non-verbal messages. One of the collections was 'Kultivate and Demonstrate', which makes people think with the designs and responds to current social issues combined with a healthy dose of self-mockery.
